UAE- Automechanika 25% larger on infrastructure projects

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  The eleventh edition of Automechanika Dubai opened on Tuesday, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, attracting major international players interested in conducting business in the region. The foremost international B2B and networking event serving the region's growing automotive aftermarket, opened 25 per cent larger than the previous year, with 12 per cent more exhibitors. Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), inaugurated the show, accompanied by senior government and industry figures as well as noted members of the regional automotive fraternity. Speaking at the opening, Al Tayer said: "The automotive trade is one of the most important industry sectors that services a large sector of the economy.Automechanika Dubai is the biggest show for aftermarket trade in the region as it shows products, services and accessories, that improve auto efficiency." "There is a 25 per cent increase in this year's edition which underlines the rapid growth of Dubai's economy. This is because of the growth in the number of infrastructure investment projects which reflects positively on the trade. This is a very significant show for RTA, as we have fleets of buses, taxis and sea transport vehicles. All of these need maintenance, repair, equipment and accessories which we source from the show," Al Tayer added. Automechanika Dubai is one of organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt's fastest growing shows, which last year attracted 20,715 trade visitors and buyers from 120 countries, an example of the event's vast reach across Western Asia, Eastern Europe, the CIS, Middle East and Africa. Both the show organiser and exhibitors have high hopes for Automechanika Dubai 2013 and expect it will be even busier than last year's record-setting edition. "Being located in Dubai, the hub of a rapidly growing automotive aftermarket, Automechanika Dubai plays a key role in connecting global manufacturers and suppliers with the promising yet diverse markets in the wider region," said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt.
