(MENAFN- Arab Times) Â An Arab man and woman were arrested on Monday in possession of large number of drugs of different types, 30,000 narcotic pills, six pistols, one Kalashnikov and different types of ammunition.
According to security sources, when the Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs at the Ministry of Interior received information about an Arab woman involved in drug trafficking, he issued instructions to the Acting Director General of Directorate General for Drug Control Brigadier Saleh Al-Ghannam to investigate the matter
.
A team of securitymen was formed for investigations and observations. After confirming the information, they took necessary legal measures and raided her apartment. They confiscated 4 grams of heroin and 18 bottles of imported liquor, after which they arrested her.
During interrogations, she revealed that she obtained the items for her own use from a compatriot. She guided securitymen to the second suspect's house, which they raided to find 4 kg of opium, 2 kg hashish, 500 gm of 'Ice' drug, 20 gm heroin and 30,000 narcotic pills. They also confiscated six pistols, one Kalashnikov and different types of ammunitions.
Using the details given by the first suspect, securitymen carried out an intensive search and managed to find and arrest the second suspect.
Both suspects were referred with the illicit items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
