In a recent press statement, Al-Hashash disclosed the plan includes the deployment of security officers throughout the country. He said the officers will work closely with the Operations Room, which receives notifications and complaints and coordinates with other security bodies in the General Support Services and Criminal Investigation departments to closely monitor the security situation in the governorates and to track down criminals. He pointed out the officers have to provide protection for the homes, residential compounds, malls and other areas in order to prevent robbery in the absence of the owners of these structures. He added the officers are also expected to preserve ethics, prevent immoral acts and harassment of families in the markets and beaches. Al-Hashash confirmed the security reinforcements are ready to receive complaints and notifications from citizens and expatriates who intend to travel abroad; affirming this will serve as a guide for the ministry in deploying more security officers to protect homes and facilities. He also advised the public to inform their relatives and neighbors of their intention to travel, so they can help in protecting their homes and properties during their absence. Al-Hashash called on the people not to leave money, jewelry and other valuable items, in addition to personal documents and important papers in their homes. They should switch off power and gas and close the main gates and inner doors as a precautionary measure. This will discourage thieves from entering the house to carry out unscrupulous acts. Al-Hashash asserted the awareness programs and messages focused on different security and traffic rules that must be followed. He said the people must strictly comply with the rules and public morals to prevent the spread of negative phenomena, especially during summer. He urged the people to bear their social responsibilities; avoid committing violations and crimes, particularly among the youths; and encouraged them to engage in worthwhile activities in order to keep them busy, away from bad companions. Media plan Al-Hashash revealed the media plan focuses on a set of goals, axes, programs and activities. He said this is in addition to the awareness publications and short messages via cell phone to warn against violating security and traffic regulations. He affirmed many agencies have fully prepared to deal with the conditions and requirements of security and traffic-related work procedures; such as immigration, passports, airport security, traffic, land, maritime and ports services for travelers. He also cited work of the Coast Guard, Civil Defense and other security bodies. Al-Hashash concluded that the awareness campaigns for the summer will be launched soon to address many social issues like the inappropriate behavior of some people. He stressed the importance of taking the necessary procedures before traveling like checking the validity of passports, especially that of the household workers. He also appealed to the public not to forget the basic travel necessities like water and healthy food.
