USD86m Saudi Arabia donations to UN's Palestine, Lebanon projects


(MENAFN) United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA)'s commissioner-general Filippo Grandi stated that the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has made a donation of USD86 million for projects in the West Bank,Gaza and Lebanon, reported Arabian Business. The donation came in three parts; the first being for projects in the West Bank worth USD14 million, the second, which is worth USD54.5 million, is for the reconstruction of Gaza, while the third part worth USD17.5 million is focused on improving conditions in Ein el Hilweh and Nahr el Bared camps in Lebanon, according to Grandi. It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia is one of UNRWA's biggest donors through the SFD and the leading donor among the Arab nations.
