Ali, Sachs win by knock outs at Cage Fighters competition

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Egypt's Mohammed Ali and Loran Sachs from Germany both won by knock outs at the Cage Fighters competition held at the Crowne Plaza Kuwait Friday night. Ali's win against UK's Thomas Harrison was in the Mixed Martial Arts -MMA category while Sachs did a Kickboxing-K1 battle against Kuwait's agile fighter Abdullah Habib. The Ali-Harrison MMA 95-kg heavy weight matchup was great in terms of training time and experience as both looked in good shape cardio fitness-wise. Round one began with a nice jab from Ali swiftly followed by a right leg round kick which missed Harrison. Harrison pressed immediately with a left sending Ali down whilst attacking the face with several crosses but Ali recovered. Both exchanged kicks and jabs but Ali's landed a heavy right which sent Harrison down but he quickly recovered to standing position before he was pinned to the ground. Both exchanged kicks and jabs to end the round. Round two began where the fighters left off, with some heavy leg kicks from Harrison. Ali took the opportunity to grab one and pressured into the cage for a single leg takedown. Harrison locked in his guillotine, but Ali used it to complete the takedown and then headstand pass to the opposite side to secure side control. Whilst in side control he attempted to finish via a submission but his space was limited so he took knee on belly and then took Harrison's defense as the opportunity to hit a fluid rolling triangle attack. He locked this in tight and followed up with a barrage of jabs in quick succession that had to bring the referee in to stop the fight thus handing the 29-year old Egyptian the knockout win, taking his record to 6-4-0.
