Tunisia and Libya Agree to Form Joint Committee


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tunisia and Libya have agreed to form a joint government committee including representatives of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts, and the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya to undertake the development of economic relations between the two countries, it was announced here today. The Tunisian Union of Industry and Trade said in a statement in this regard, that this agreement was reached during a meeting held within the framework of the activities of the Day of Tunisia in the Tripoli International Fair in which ten Tunisian institutions operating in different sectors are taking part The statement added that the two sides agreed that the Committee s to meets at end of April the current, adding that the delegation of the Tunisian Union of Industry and Commerce, headed by the Second Deputy President of the Union Samir Majul suggested that the first meeting of a committee should review the free trade agreement in order to improve and expand it to include new sectors , such as the services sector. The delegation also submitted a proposal to hold a meeting between Tunisian businessmen and their Libyan counterparts under the supervision of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts and the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya on the sidelines of the first meeting of the joint committee.
