Dubai's D&S inks USD230m contract in Algeria


(MENAFN) Dubai-based Drake & Scull (D&S) won a USD230 million contract in Algeria, as the company shifted focus on other regional construction markets after a slowdown in the UAE's property sector, Reuters reported. The company, which specializes in mechanical, engineering and plumbing operations The contract was given to the civil contracting arm of the company Drake & Scull reported a higher fourth quarter net profit and said it was awarded projects worth UD1.2 billion last year compared to US925.5 million in 2010. The company won a USD96 million contract in December to build a commercial development project in Riyadh. It also inked a USD39 million contract in Egypt for work on an ammonium nitrate plant in Ain Sukhna.
