(MENAFN) Dubai-based Drake & Scull (D&S) won a USD230 million contract in Algeria, as the company shifted focus on other regional construction markets after a slowdown in the UAE's property sector, Reuters reported.

Drake & Scull reported a higher fourth quarter net profit and said it was awarded projects worth UD1.2 billion last year compared to US925.5 million in 2010.
The company won a USD96 million contract in December to build a commercial development project in Riyadh. It also inked a USD39 million contract in Egypt for work on an ammonium nitrate plant in Ain Sukhna.
