Kuwaiti cultural event in Algeria winds up


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The activities of Kuwaiti Cultural Days wrapped up here Sunday evening in a ceremony that was attended by a galaxy of Algerian and Kuwaiti intellectuals and media representatives. Kuwaiti Cultural Days had kick-started here on Thursday, marking the selection of the Algerian city of Tlemcen as the capital of Islamic culture for 2011. Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the final ceremony, representative of the Algerian Ministry of Culture Rabeh Hamdi hailed Kuwaiti Cultural Days as "so excellent" that they attracted a large number of Algerians to get better acquainted with Kuwaiti heritage. The Algerian official even looked forward for more Kuwaiti cultural and artistic festivals in Algeria. Several Kuwaiti agencies, chiefly the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), participated in the event in Tlemcen. Many artistic and cultural activities, including music performances and poetic evenings, were held on the sidelines of the festival.
