150 persons suffocate from chlorine gas in west Baghdad


(MENAFN- Aswat Al-Iraq) More than 150 persons have suffered from suffocation and poisoning due to the spread of chlorine gas from a water-purification station in west Baghdad's Sadr city on Tuesday, a security source reported. "The spread of clorine from a water purification station in west Baghdad's Sadr city on Tuesday night had caused the poisoning and suffocation of more than 150 persons, who were driven to hospitals for treatment on Tuesday night," the security source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. He said the security source had called on citizens, through loudspeakers, to keep to their houses, in order to avoid suffocation by the spread chlorine in the area.
